  • Quote? Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think of the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion is starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the twin towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. And if you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion that love actually is all around.
  • Food? Artichokes and Corned Beef
  • Beverage? Diet Pepsi

    [ In-depth ]

  • Convince us of your nerdly heritage: I am a band geek...and I'm proud of it. I was in every band I could be in (I even spent over 7 hours in the car every weekend to be in a youth orchestra out of town!) You know the flute player on American Pie? Yeah, that's me. My friends say I have a pretty good case against the movie company because they stole my identity for that character. I've actually been to band camp and I tell band camp stories all the time!!! If that isn't nerdy enough for you, I was in Camp Fire for 9 years and I'm proud to say that I have earned my WoHeLo medallion. In addition, my dad brews beers, is starting up a distillery, and on the side owns his own Environmental Consulting firm. My mother drives horse-drawn-buggies...she even took me on a wagon ride that reinacted the Meek's wagon trail (we had to dress in costume and everything). Oh, and I have a profound hearing loss that makes me say "What?" and "Huh?" all the time.

  • If I could grant you one wish, what would you wish for? A money tree...a healthy one that I could plant in my back yard and everytime I wanted money I could just go out and pick it. If my friends needed money I'd say, "It's in the back yard...help yourself."

  • What nerdly activities do you partake in? Band, band, band (I worked at a Classical Music Store), games, gardening, and reading...

  • A Star trek convention is coming to your town do you go? Sure, why not...I have nothing better to do. Unless of course it is the first weekend in April in which case I couldn't go because I have to go to flute fair.

  • Write an interesting solution to this mathmatical problem : 4+4=? I'm sure this has been used before but...X+X=8, 2X=8, 4+X and therefore 4+4=8

  • You see a cloaked stranger standing in the shadows of an alley. He offers you something,What is it, and how do you reply? A magic glove and I reply, "Gosh, thanks! My hand was getting cold."

  • At a gaming convention, what would you dress up as and why? Yeoman Rand because she is a babe like me ;-) lol

  • Write a short, creative story about your plot for world conquest: Armed with my flute, piccolo and alto flute I walk cross country. Any enemy I meet I defeat by playing lovely music on my flute to lure them into my snare. I then play high notes on my piccolo that requires them to cover their ears and drop to the ground in pain. Then I use my big alto flute to hit them over the head and knock them out.

  • Please, let us endure your nerdly visage.

Both of these are from a girls night out in our home town of Bend. I'm the nerd with the glasses.

    [ Your thoughts ]
  • Please provide us with a few of your own thoughts. My own thoughts. Hmmm...well, I checked out this community via a friend and I really like how down-to-earth everybody seems. This community honestly seems like one of the good ones. Thanks!
